Microsoft Windows 11

LaserJet Pro MFP 3301 will not default print to Tray 2.

Go to Windows, Printers, MFP 3301, Printing Preferences, Paper Source.  Select Tray 2.

 

This is not an option on the printer menu.

This is not an option on the app.

This is not an option on Chrome tab HP Smart 

 

It should have never been defaulted this way, who prints envelopes anymore anyway.

Some things to check that might be causing this issue:

 

- Are the tray 2 settings on the printer itself set for the size and type of paper you are printing to? And is that the same paper size and type that your application is trying to print to.

- If you print a report from the control panel of the printer, does that come out on tray 2?

- Any chance you do not have an HP driver but rather a Microsoft IPP driver installed. To check this on Windows 11 go to control panel, right click on devices and printers and select open from the drop down menu. Right click on the icon for your printer and select open from the drop down menu. Click on the advanced tab and it should show the driver name that is installed.

What i telling you is what I have posted is the fix.  The printer defaults to tray 1 and

*there is no fix in the screen on the printer

* there is no fix in the app

*there is no fix from HP Smart on a Chrome Tab.

 

The only fix is in Windows/ Printers/MFP3301/Printing Preferences/'Paper Source/Tray 2
