HP Laserjet 1300
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and older

I upgraded to the Big Sur 11.1 MAC OS recently and my printer driver shows an error that opening the driver may destroy my computer. I followed HP website instructions to uninstall the driver and download the .sit file with the driver again. The .sit file does not open on my new OS even if Stuffit app installed. I now do not have a driver that is compatible with the updated OS. Anyone have any ideas as HP hasn't been much help as of yet.

Hi Shlomi

The resolution worked but I had to bypass the malware protection inherent to the new MAC OS platform by going to system preferences, security and privacy, then allow apps to download from, a note appearing asking to allow the HewlettPackardPrinterdirvers.pkg file to open. Once this was carried out the file opened no problem and the driver was installed per your directions in the above link. My only concern is have I allowed the install package wizard to install malware into my laptop?
