Always worked with iMac.  Disconnected for different printer trial out, but when reconnected again, the printer kept going on pause every time print instruction was sent; when I press the "green" button, a test page will print, and that was all it would do.  Install printer again via settings and the same; every time print instruction was sent, the printer goes into pause (yellow indicator), then afterwards it goes to idle (green indicator) showing it is ready to print...  Re-started the iMac to try again, to no avail.

Did you install the 5.1 driver set after the first file in my answer?

The solution is to download (and install) this package which will update drivers AND THE CERTIFICATE:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essen...

It is NOT the same as the driver package, Easy Start, or Easy Admin other people are recommending.

If the link comes up blank, try right clicking and saving it. If you install this package and still have trouble, try uninstalling your printer and reinstalling by going through Apple Logo (Upper Left of Screen)/System Preferences/Printers & Scanners.

Easy Admin did nothing. Easy Startup did nothing. 5.1 drivers did nothing. This worked for me!

If this solved your issue, please thumbs up and mark as solved!

Thanks, BryanCustomPure, but the download failed due to "Network error" either through copy and paste link or a save link.  Can you advise how best I can download the file or whether it is accessible from a different location?   Thank you in advance...

Finally managed to download the file, ran the package which was successfully installed, and tried again but still failed!  Also delete printer for a new setup, still didn't work...  if there is anything else I can do,  I will really appreciate further advice!

Thank you so much...  I did install the driver but that was before I installed the essentials package.  So following your instruction, I re-installed the 5.1 driver and the printer is working just like before!  Much appreciated...
