HP Laserjet M577

Installed a Firmware update for Laserjet M577, it's on the 'Checking Hardware' stage and still counting up, after TEN DAYS. Anyone have any idea what these count up to, so we know what we are looking at?

This is an absolute joke as the printer is out of action.

10 days, it's time to turn it OFF and back ON

Thanks. just done that... and it starting counting from 0 again ('Checking Hardware'). It had got up to approx. 15000 before we turned it off.

I'm going to go onsite and try updating the firmware from the pre-boot menu via USB memory stick to see if that resolves it.

If you have any other suggestions I'd be very grateful as if that doesn't work I'm not sure where to go with it!

That would be my next suggestion.

If that isn't helpful then format the disk in the preboot menu and run firmware upgrade from the USB thumbdrive again after format.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. I will let you know how I get on!

Thanks for your suggest. Reinstalling the Firmware from memory stick did the trick and got it up and working again. Thanks again!
