I had a motherboard failure on my PC, after rebuilding it I tried to print to my printer but no luck. I then tried to delete the printer but message stated there was a pending print job after I clicked on remove this device? I tried to reinstall from the CD as I had done several times before but it wouldn't connect wireless. I used the HP Scan and Fax doctor software and it found the printer at IP 192.168.1.152. Great but then it wouldn't connect. I tried several of the options but to no avail. I finally got a message stating "your printer cannot be set up wireless"? I then connected it to a USB port and it finally connected and works ok.
However, I want to print wirelessly as I did before. What is really weird is that I can print from my iPhone through airprint to it but not wirelessly from my PC.
Any ideas? I have deleted it, removed software and drivers and tried to reload but still not able to set up wireless.

Hi @slapshotses,
Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding issues connecting the printer to a wireless network. I will be delighted to assist you here.
Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂
To assist you with accurate information I would require more information regarding this:
- Did you perform a root level uninstallation and reinstallation of the printer drivers?
For now, try these steps:
- Please ensure that the router broadcasts at 2.4 GHz Band and the wireless mode is B/G. These are the modes and bands in which the printer gets recognized and operates correctly.
- Temporarily disable all firewalls and security software.
Press “Windows key” + “r” to get the “Run” window.
- Type "services.msc" to get Services – Go to “Print spooler” – Right-click and “Stop” the service.
- Now again open "Run" - Type “spool” and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.
- Go to services again - Start the print spooler.
- Now check for issue resolution.
If the issue persists, also try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:
- First, unplug the USB cable from the printer, if present.
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Photosmart printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
- Restart your computer.
- Then create a new user account as an administrator from this link:http://hp.care/2rZfJBC
Log into the new user account after restarting your computer.
Then download the latest full feature driver from http://hp.care/2eRyV3c and install it on the computer after selecting the correct operating system.
Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.
This should fix the issue.
If this does not do the trick, please download the Windows Built-in drivers by following instructions from this link: http://hp.care/2o3acvH
- For further assistance, you try the steps from this guided troubleshooter link: http://hp.care/2kxnTzb for wireless issues when the printer does not work on the wireless network.
- Now check for issue resolution.
- If the problem persists then perform all the relevant steps from this link: http://hp.care/2wWkijc on how to set up the printer on a wireless network and this should do the trick for you. (HP LaserJet Pro P1102w, P1109w - Wireless Printer Setup)
Finally, if the problem continues, then install the printer as a USB printer and convert it to a wireless printer by following all the recommended steps from this link: http://hp.care/2DQw1UN (HP Printers - Changing from a USB to a Wireless Connection)
This should fix the issue.
Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, please.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂 Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

David,
Wow, awesome detailed reply. Prior to seeing this I went onto the Internet and searched for a "stuck queue on HP printers" and found a great post that basically mirrored your point about going to service and cleaning out the print spooler. This did the trick. I deleted the existing software and printer and then reinstalled the printer as a wireless device and it worked fine. Back to normal as I've had it in place for several years. Your very detailed step by step solution was fantastic and much appreciated. I saw you are an HP employee and you have solidified my already devout support of HP printers. Employees such as yourself truly represent HP customer service at the highest level. You have definitely locked in an HP printer supporter for life.
Many Thanks,
Steve
