Hi @BMDP
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP multifunction printer is printing envelopes sideways when using the Stamps.com app, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and correct the issue:
1. Check Envelope Orientation
- Ensure that the envelopes are loaded correctly in the paper tray. Typically, the flap should be facing up and towards the printer. Refer to your printer’s manual for specific loading instructions.
2. Adjust Print Settings in Stamps.com
- Select the Correct Paper Size: In the Stamps.com app, make sure you’ve selected the correct envelope size (e.g., #10, A7, etc.) before printing.
- Check Orientation Settings: Look for any options related to orientation (Portrait or Landscape) and set it to the correct one for envelopes.
3. Printer Properties
- When you go to print, click on Printer Properties or Preferences in the print dialog box.
- Under the Paper/Quality tab, ensure the paper type is set to “Envelope” and check for any orientation settings.
4. Use the Right Tray
- If your printer has multiple trays, ensure you are using the correct tray designated for envelopes. Some printers have a specific slot for thicker media like envelopes.
5. Update Printer Drivers
- Make sure your printer drivers are up to date. Visit the HP website to download the latest drivers for your printer model.
6. Print a Test Envelope
- Before printing the actual envelopes, do a test print using plain paper to ensure the settings are correct.
7. Adjust Margins in Stamps.com
- Check the margins and layout settings in Stamps.com. Adjusting these may help align the printing correctly on the envelope.
8. Reinstall Stamps.com Software
- If the problem persists, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling the Stamps.com application to reset any potential settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
