My HP Neverstop Laser MFP 1202w printer won't connect to my new wifi after moving. I have tried everything. HP won't accept my serial number for the printer, I am assuming because it was purchased 4 years prior, but is actually in great condition. I cannot reach any customer service agent without an accepted serial number, in either their contact phone number or via their virtual assistant.
HP claims to be "HPrecycle" but this is a clear ploy for planned obsolesce, so I just buy another printer. If I can't get the wifi working, and I do purchase another printer, it WONT BE HP THATS FOR SURE!

Reset instructions (does not erase nvram)

Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time until the power light blinks. The printer restarts and then the Wireless light starts blinking blue, indicating the printer is in Auto Wireless Connect (AWC) setup mode. You can now set up a wireless connection between the printer and your device.

I think it stays in setup mode for 2 hours.

To perform a factory reset of the NVRAM
(Non-Volatile Random Access Memory) on an HP 1202 printer,
follow these steps:

  • Turn off the printer: Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  • Press and hold the Resume button: While holding down the Resume button, press the Power button to turn on the printer.
  • Continue to hold down the Resume button until the Attention light turns on.
  • Release the Resume button: Once the Attention light turns on, release the Resume button.
  • Print a configuration page: Press the Resume button once. The printer will print a configuration page, indicating that the NVRAM has been reset to factory settings.
  • Verify the reset: Check the configuration page to ensure that the NVRAM reset was successful. It should display default settings.

Please note that performing a factory reset of the NVRAM will erase all settings and preferences, returning the printer to its original factory state. If you have any specific settings or configurations that you need to retain, make sure to note them down before proceeding with the reset.

Let me know if you have a flex system (WiFi boosters or repeaters) as the setup is much more complicated.
