Tried all the ways that the printer can download it's own firmware update without success.

I've downloaded the firmware update to my computer. Is there a way to install it via USB? ... Ethernet? ... flash drive?

If you have downloaded a firmware update run it from a computer and follow instructions.

App: "Update failed. Turn off the printer and turn it on again to try again."

Printer: Endlessly "Verifying". Unplugged multiple times. Finally got it to start up normally. Reports that ethernet cable is unplugged. (It's not.)

This reporting that the ethernet cable is not connected has been happening on and off for quite a while, and is what I was hoping the firmware update would fix.

Walkaround for firmware upgrade using the front USB port under the printer screen:

Use 7zip software to extract  .exe firmware file.

Locate the actual firmware file its ful2 extension and save it to a USB drive

Insert a USB drive in the USB port under the screen, the printer will recognize firmware and an icon for firmware will appear on the printer's screen. Select firmware update from the printer screen.

That worked. Thank you.

Unfortunately, it didn't seem to fix the problem of the wired ethernet port intermittently failing.
