@Toole, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand you're facing issues with your HP OfficeJet 3830 printer showing as offline or driver unavailable, and it's not appearing in Device Manager on your Acer PC. Let's walk through some steps to resolve this.
Check Windows Updates
Ensure your Windows is fully updated:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any pending updates.
- Restart your PC.
Remove and Reinstall the Printer
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select your HP OfficeJet 3830 and click Remove device.
- Disconnect the printer from your PC (USB or Wi-Fi).
Download and Install the Full Feature Software
Use HP’s official driver package: Download HP OfficeJet 3830 Drivers
- Download the Full Feature Software and Drivers.
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Choose Wireless or USB connection as preferred.
Check Device Manager
After reinstalling:
- Press Windows + X > Device Manager.
- Expand Print queues or Other devices.
- If the printer shows with a yellow warning icon, right-click > Update driver > Search automatically.
Connect via Wi-Fi (Recommended for ARM64 PCs)
If you're using an ARM64-based PC, USB drivers may not fully support all functions. In that case:
- Disconnect USB.
- Connect the printer to Wi-Fi using the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer.
- Add the printer via Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners > Add a printer.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
