Welcome to the HP Support Community
Could you please help me with the operating system of your computer?
If you are using Windows,
Make sure the scan to computer is enabled and both the printer and computer are connected to the same network.
- Search Windows for your printer model name, and click the printer name in the list of results. HP Printer Assistant opens.
- Click Scanner Actions, and then click Manage Scan to Computer.
- Click Enable to activate the scan to computer option.
I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:
Remove the USB if connected
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers to download and install the printer driver.
Try to scan.
Keep me posted, how it goes!

Scan Doctor 5.2 checks the drivers for you as part of the Fix Scan routine. What does it say?
Scan Doctor 5.2 runs a test scan (from your computer). Does it work?
You might try this:
With the printer on and waiting for a print job (that is, not printing or scanning) pull the power plug from the 120V wall socket. This won't hurt your printer - it simulates what happens when you have a power outage on your street. It also forces the printer to start at the very beginning... Wait 30 seconds before re-inserting the plug and turning the printer on. Wait for the printer to start up.
Now run Scan Doctor.
Is your computer up-to-date with Windows Update?
