HP Office Jet 7612
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After installing a new hard drive and motherboard in my Dell Laptop 5400 Windows 10 OS the HP7612 stopped lost connectivity over my WIFI network.  After many attempts to delete device, remove software, download and install new drivers and firmware the printer was partially working.  However it will not print anything because the "Printer is in error state".  HP  Print and Scan Doctor did not resolve the problem.  HPSSDr did resolve driver update and partially fix a perceived problem of print job(s) being stuck in the que.

After flailing several hours I solved the problem by

1. using the Trouble shoot settings tool in Windows 10 on Printers.  The troubleshooter could not find the printer.

2. Printer was added using the TCP/IP address or Host Name option in the Add Printer Wizard pop-up window.

3. Dont check the box to 'Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use.  This allowed me to

4. select the HP Driver for my Printer (instead of the Generic Windows 10 Driver.)

5. The Tabloid paper sizes became available and the printer worked wirelessly.
