I recently purchased and installed the HP OfficeJet Pro 9010. The installation was a snap. It wasnt until after installation that I was setting up the fax portion of the printer and was asked for my Password. The username was that was listed is "Admin". Of course, I tried the password that I originally used when installing the product but knew that it wouldnt work, and I was right. After searching the web for an answer and couldnt seem to find one, I contacted "Tech Support" via a chat session. Apparently, the "technician" was as knowledgeable as me and couldnt offer any assistance that would correct the issue. Unfortunately, I was limited for time and very frustrated and had to leave that technician while he/she/it was still scratching their head.

Please, can ANYONE help this 64 year old somewhat tech savy old man? I am hoping that when I do find the answer to this seemingly simple questing, I will have a "DUH" moment.

@TomballTawny

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Could you share the screen where it's asking for the password?

Keep me posted for further assistance.
