And can't you see any difference when plugging the LAN back? as with your current configuration it is connected wirelessly so there was a configuration change.

Please try if if you haven't tried it yet.

Also, try connecting the Mac to your printer with Wi-Fi Direct and check if that works then

If it does via Wi-Fi Direct, meaning the issue only relies with the network, as the same printer and computer in-place but only the network connection changes.

Please give it a try and let me know the results.

I haven't been on site since Friday, will be on site tomorrow and check then. They no longer have an IT dept to my knowledge so I'm a bit short on how it got hooked up in the first place but I'm going to reconnect it.

I really wish I'd found the HP software package first...woulda saved a lot of heartache. I'll keep you posted.

I reconnected the LAN cable and now neither computer can print.

WiFi Direct works

I want to reiterate it's worked for 4 years this way, wirelessly, before I went in and removed it trying to fix the Catalina / Certificate problem. It SHOULD work being that I've got a green light on the network cable, it is connected, etc.

Network swapping for WiFi Direct isn't a permanent solution for a problem I largely created. Still open to suggestions.

So I've largely reset the physical connection the way it was.

Soo....I just did the ethernet installation successfully on my macbook pro connected to same wireless network as the clients is.

I ran through the exact same procedure. Theirs failed. Same network.

So I grabbed the IP address from my MBP and tried adding it THAT way as well to the other. Same issue

My Macbook pro is on the left, shows IP for working printer. I add it that way to the one on the right and....

Since its hardwired in to the router it shouldnt make a difference correct?

Here is the wired configuration sheet

Still no dice, I made sure they are connected to same router wirelessly, the trouble one still doesn't see the printer and mine still does.

A third computer is hooked up just like mine. But not this one...Is there anything in the network settings on THIS mac that could cause issues?
