I have an HP Office Jet 4655 that I never used. Its been sitting for like 7 years. I also can't find the adapter. Is it worth it find find an adapter and try and set it up or should I just buy a new one with a new laptop?

Hi @coach2882,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that your HP OfficeJet 4655 All-in-One Printer has been unused for several years and that you no longer have the power adapter/power cord.

Before replacing the printer, it would be worth checking whether the printer still powers on and works normally.

If you can obtain the correct power cord/adapter specified for your HP OfficeJet 4655, connect the printer and check whether it powers on normally. Please avoid using an adapter with unverified specifications.

Since the printer has been unused for a long period, please also check the installed ink cartridges. If the existing cartridges no longer print correctly, the printer uses one black and one tri-color cartridge, and replacement cartridges are listed on the printer's HP support page.

You can find the setup and user guides for the printer here: HP OfficeJet 4655 All-in-One Printer - Setup and User Guides | HP® Support

If the printer powers on and operates normally, you can continue using it rather than replacing it solely because you're getting a new laptop. The printer's specifications list Windows 11 as a compatible operating system.

If the printer does not power on or develops another issue after you obtain the correct power supply, let us know what happens, and we'll check the available support options. If you decide that you would rather replace it, we can also help you identify a current HP printer that better suits your printing requirements.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
