Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi, having issues with printing since upgrading to Catalina. I am now on Catalina 10.15.4, latest

 

The issue is that after the printer goes to sleep, when I try to print it either shows as offline or takes ages to find the printer. I tried the HP easy start software and that was problematic so uninstalled that and reset the printing system. I then installed the HP Smart APP from the App store. I also followed the instructions here: LINK to set a manual IP etc

 

I reset the printing system after following the above post, added the printer in macOS Catalina settings/Printers and Scanners and the printer is found and added

 

The printer does seem to wake from sleep now but it takes 30 seconds to a minute to find the printer. This is driving me absolutely nuts. I did not have any issue before Catalina. Can someone help me fix this?

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue, to further isolate, Could you perform a ping test in sleep mode using the Mac Network Utility and let me know the results?

Use the printer IP address to perform a ping test, the printer IP can be located by selecting the wireless icon on the printer display.

 

Can your other devices print when in sleep mode?

 

Keep me posted for further assistance.
