HP OfficeJet 4655 wireless printer

Every time my wireless printer goes a long time without being used, the power button does not turn it on and I have to unplug the power cord and then plug it back into the printer to get it to turn back on. I am looking for a solution to prevent this from happening again so I don't have to keep unplugging my printer every time I want to use it.

Hi,

Please print and evaluate a Wireless Test Report, wireless connectivity issues will likely cause such behavior.

Press the bottom WiFi icon and then the gear settings, select Print Reports and then Wireless Test Report.

You may share the printed report with me via a Private Message, so I may guide you further accordingly on what network settings can be adjusted to resolve such behavior.

The following statement was printed at the top of my wireless network test results:

"No problems found. Congratulations on the successful setup of your wireless printer."

I've also hypothesized that my printer gets trapped in sleep mode during long periods of inactivity.

Thanks for clarifying.

Please make sure the printer power is directly connected to a wall socket, not through any power strips, extensions, surge protector, etc.

How os the signal quality within the wireless test?

Make sure the printer is located close to the router, bit not closer than 2 meters (6 feet) away.

Additionally, make sure the latest printer firmware is  installed for your printer:
