Not sure if i'm doing something wrong but drivers used to be available as "zip" files where you could select them from Device Manager. However, for this printer there doesn't seem to be an option to extract these separately and you HAVE to go through the HP Software to "Connect printer" which in my scenario DOES NOT WORK! The software finds the printer and then attempts to connect to it but fails with "HP could not install your printer". Tried this via USB and Network. Using the "HP Doctor" is even more useless, as the only solution it can come up with is "The full feature software for this printer is not installed". Which just goes back in a loop....Who even tested this and thought it was a good idea?

Ultimately i have found a workaround for this and it was to select an older printer model from the Windows repository, which seems to print okay, however this is obviously not ideal as i've had to go back to 7400 Series from 7610 Series. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be happening?

I've already tried Running as Administrator, i've restarted the Printer, the Computer, tried different USB Ports, i am even able to navigate to the Printer WebPage OK. Searching for Drivers Automatically fails, as it never ends up finding anything. The only "Driver" available for this is the "Basic" and "Full Software" neither which give you access to the driver files so they can be installed Manually.

1) Right-click on the Start or the Windows icon and open run.

2) In the Run box, type %temp% and hit on "Ok". This will open the "Temp" folder.

3) Select "Date Modified" to "Today" and look for a 7z.... folder where you'll find the .inf files.

Hi @PowerPoint

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Try these steps -

1. In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".

2. Look for HP Printer software.

3. Right-click to uninstall.

4. In the search box, type and open “Devices and printers”.

5. In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.

6. Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7. Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).

8. Click on the "Drivers" tab.

9. Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.

10. Select Ok.

11. Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.

12. Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.

13. Restart the computer.

14. Download and install the software and drivers from here.

15. Click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

Does this provide driver ".inf" files for manual installation?
