Hi, I need to do a full factory/advanced reset and can't find the instructions in the manual or online. How do I perform this?

Hi @npz123,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

How to do a hard reset on your printer

  1. With the cartridges still installed, power down the printer and then unplug the power cord from the wall.
  2. Wait for a minute, then plug the printer back in and power it back up. Wait for the cartridges to center and then try printing again.
  • Touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the dashboard on the printer control panel
  • Select “Setup” and then select “Printer Maintenance”
  • Select “Restore” and then select “Restore Factory Defaults”
  • A message appears stating that the factory defaults will be restored.
  • Select “Restore” to finish the reset process.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

@Alden4 does this also erase any data stored on the printer or just change the settings to the factory default?

Hi @npz123,

Thank you for your response,

Yes, performing a factory reset erases all the settings and data on the printer, including network settings, and you will need to set up the printer again from scratch.

I hope this helps.
