HP OfficeJet 8720 - HP Smart Windows 10 App - Printer Status Unknown

After upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7 I wanted to reinstall my HP 8720. I cleared out all drivers via the instructions HP support provided - clearing out drivers using Command, etc. and uninstalling the printer software as well as removing device from the Printer settings. I've rebooted of course after all that.

I then installed Full Software suite via HP Easy Start but I'm not sure what all was included in the Full Software suite since I could not access the software anywhere - where/how would I do that? The printer prints and scans just fine but again Full Software implies there are additional features I'm not seeing.

Lastly, I tried the HP Smart Windows 10 App and while it finds the printer, the Printer Status is unknown even though the printer works - prints and scans just fine and I can access the printer via the Web interface using its IP address. 

I've attached pictures showing the information as it appears in HP Smart.  How do I fix the HP Smart issue? I've tried removing and reinstalling the App.

For the HP Smart issue, it could either be a bug or connectivity issues between the printer, router and computer.
