OfficeJet 9010
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all,

I was hoping someone could point me in the correct direction.  My company is deploying the 9010 model printers to our field sales reps and I need to get the driver file packaged for mass install on our field machines.  The issue I am encountering is that the All-in-One driver provided on HP's site requires the printer to be connected at the time of install to allow the software to detect the model of the printer.  In our case, all machines have the software installed at the time of build with no printer present.

I need  a standalone driver file for the 9010 printer that can be installed on its own, without the printer plugged into the machine.

Can someone point me in the correct direction for this?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

You can download the FULL feature software and install it with the option "Connect Later - Do not connect to the device now, I will connect it later."

In the resource shown above, the printer is actually connected to the wireless network, hence the software install will skip the connection Option screen.

If you want to see how the "Connect later option looks like, here is an example with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8730.

At time 3:21 is where you will see the screen for connect later for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 printer. (you will see a similar screen for HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 printer software if it's not connected)

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply, but the solution you are suggesting is basically useless.  If you read the origianl posters question, you would see that this solution would not work. Sounds like another HP employee reading from a script without reading the question first.

I have the exact same issue and the way you worded the question is identical to how I would have posted this. I have discovered that if you go through the install as recommended, the install files are saved in the temp folder in your profile %temp% in a foldere that starts with 7z.......  And it includes an .msi install file so I can package it and deploy through SCCM. The problem is that running the install on either Windows 7 or 10, (i am using msiexec /i OJ901x64.msi) starts the install, but half way through, it is failing with a pop up window that shows it canot find the file "api-ms-win-core-file-l1-2-0.dll" in the install folder. I found some references referring to Visual C++ libraries, but the pc has every 32 & 64 bit library installed since 2007. The files is already located on the pc in the C:\windows\Syswow64\downlevel folder. I am sure it something related to C++, I am submitting a case to HP Support for some help. I will let you know what I find out.

Hey Disp350,

From what I was informed by an HP employee, the official drivers for the 9010/9020 are currently not available.  They are about 2-3 weeks out from being made public. (from ~4/10/2019)  The current software on the driver portal will only enable very basic functionality to get the laptop and printer to connection and "limp by."  The Universal Driver and the general packaged software, as far as I have found, do not fit the need for what we are trying to do.

To see what I mean, compare the driver page for the 8710 to the 9010.  The 8710 page has a basic driver file available, the 9010 does not.

It looks like folks in our case are dead in the water until HP finishes the drivers for the product they are already distributing.

Hi,

The drivers do not seem to be available on its support page, but can be downloaded using the below link:

HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads

The following link may also be applicable for this thread, to deploy the software on multiple clients by following the Customize the installation section

https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c03351547

Also,, the 'Command line tool to update IP Address of installed printer' section might be helpful once the printers become available on the network.

Hi ShlomiL.  Thanks very much for the link.  I have downloaded it and will see what I can extract.  I hope everything works as this is one of, if not the actual. fasted Officjet Printers  I have ever seen.

Thanks so much ShlomiL.  Those drivers did work.

Out of curiousity, I see thatg these drivers are on an HP FTP site, but are they officially supported by HP?  I am very curious why they wouldn't already have been made available on the regular driver portal.

You're much welcome @kmullen27,

No worries, these are officially supported but were missing due to a technical error, not for any other reason.
