Hi I have two HP OfficeJet 9130b printers recently purchased, but both will not update firmware from Firmware version 6.23.2.122-202407240724 to the Available Firmware version 6.23.4.136-202507241513.  When the printers try to update, they reboot and a message appears saying "Firmware Update Unsuccessful  The printer is unable to communicate with the Firmware update server.  Please try again.  If the problem persists, contact support."  The printer event logs show Error F0.03.26.02.  The traffic is not being blocked and the printers are obviously communicating to the Firmware update server as they show what the latest version is.

Hi @RAMUser,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet 9130b printers are not updating their firmware as expected, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.

Check Internet Connection:

  • Ensure that the printers are properly connected to a stable internet connection. If they are using Wi-Fi, consider switching to a wired Ethernet connection for a more stable connection during the update.

Firewall and Network Settings:

  • Check your network settings to ensure that there are no firewalls or security settings preventing the printers from accessing the firmware update server.

Manual Firmware Update:

  • If automatic updates fail, try updating the firmware manually:
    • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
    • Enter your printer model (HP OfficeJet 9130b) to find the latest firmware version available.
    • Download the firmware file to your computer.
    • Follow the instructions provided by HP to manually upload and install the firmware to your printer using a USB connection or through the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS).

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary connectivity issues.

Try Again Later:

  • If the issue persists, there might be a temporary problem with the HP firmware update server. Wait some time and then try the update process again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
