Hi,

I am having problems with my printer setup. The printer has been working perfectly for 3 months. It started saying it was connected, then when I press the print button in an application the print queue then shows 'Unable to find printer', as soon as I cancel the print job, it then changes to 'Printer ready' again.

I have been advised to remove the printer and re-install, but this is not going well. When I get to the 'Add Printer' window it prompts me to choose software for the driver. The software is not in the list and choosing generic or anything else fails with an error window.

Trying to find a driver on the HP site is impossible, they only seem to list further applications to download, HP Easy Setup, HP Smart and HP Firmware updater, all of which fail with an error code. I have tried talking to an HP agent but as I am in the UK they are unable to help me, but they did give me a link to the UK agent, which fails!

Totally frustrated with this now and hope somewhere can help me get this resolved, before I launch it out the window.

Tony

HP have called me back and gone through the settings step by step. They have instructed me to make sure my laptop is on a 2G wifi network connection, to match the printer, before printing. You are no longer able to print across networks (not an issue before), from 5G to 2G or vice versa, since the MacOS Big Sur 11.4 update.

Hope this helps someone else. Thanks to the person at HP for sorting this out.
