HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 All-in-One Printer

I have a HP Office jet Pro 8035 series I just purchased from someone that was selling it and I can't reset it because whoever set it up has to change settings. I need to do a hard reset somehow on it so I can set it up for my HP laptop. Can I get some help with resetting this? Thanks

Hi @David_T11

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To reset your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 so you can set it up for your own use, you’ll need to perform a factory reset to clear any previous settings and allow you to configure it from scratch.

Here’s how you can do a hard reset on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035:

Method 1: Hard Reset via Printer’s Control Panel

Turn On the Printer:

  • Press the Power button to turn on your printer if it’s not already on.

Open the Printer Settings:

  • On the printer's Control Panel, touch the Settings icon (the gear icon) located in the top-right corner of the screen.

Navigate to Reset Option:

  • From the Settings menu, select Printer Maintenance or Device Maintenance (depending on the firmware version).
  • Scroll down and select Restore or Restore Factory Defaults.

Restore to Factory Defaults:

  • You may be asked to confirm your choice. Select Restore Defaults or Reset to complete the process.
  • This will reset the printer to its original factory settings, clearing any network settings, passwords, and user configurations.

Reconfigure the Printer:

  • After the reset, the printer will restart, and you’ll need to set it up again.
  • You’ll be prompted to reconnect to a Wi-Fi network and configure other settings, such as language and country.

Method 2: Hard Reset Using the Printer’s Buttons

If the control panel doesn’t have the option to reset, you can try performing a hard reset using a series of button presses:

Turn Off the Printer:

  • Press the Power button to turn off the printer.

Press and Hold the Reset Button:

  • With the printer turned off, press and hold the Cancel button (the red "X" icon) and the Wireless button at the same time.

Turn the Printer On:

  • While holding the Cancel and Wireless buttons, press the Power button to turn the printer back on. Keep holding the Cancel and Wireless buttons for 10–15 seconds.

Wait for Reset:

  • The printer should perform a hard reset and restart automatically. After it powers on, the settings should be reset.

I hope this helps.
