I have a brand new Printer several days old.  I am having printing problems.  I send my document to the printer, I hear the printer processing the print job but, the job does not print.  I tried to print from a flash drive and it worked but, it will not print my computer documents.  Need help!

Hi @GJTs,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Verify that the printer is properly connected to your network if using Wi-Fi, or directly via USB if connected to the computer.
  • If using Wi-Fi, ensure that your computer is on the same network.

Default Printer Setting:

  • Make sure your HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e is set as the default printer. Navigate to "Devices and Printers" on your computer, right-click on the printer name, and select "Set as default printer."

Reboot Devices:

  • Restart your printer, computer, and router to resolve any network connectivity issues that might be causing the problem.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can download these from the HP Support website.
  • Uninstall and then reinstall the printer driver if necessary.

Clear Print Queue:

  • Open the print queue and cancel all pending print jobs to clear any stuck jobs that might be causing the issue.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, which is a tool designed to diagnose and fix printing and scanning problems automatically.

Firewall/Security Software:

  • Make sure that your firewall or security software is not blocking the print job. Temporarily disable it to see if printing resumes.

Test a Different File Type:

  • Sometimes, specific document types or formats can cause issues. Try printing a simple text document to see if it prints successfully.

Try a Direct USB Connection:

  • If you are printing wirelessly, try connecting the printer directly to the computer with a USB cable as a test to rule out wireless connectivity issues.

Firmware Update:

  • Check if the printer firmware is up-to-date, as sometimes new printers can benefit from firmware updates to resolve initial issues.

I hope this helps.
