Email Set Up :

The printer allows you to scan documents and send them to one or more email addresses as attachments, without additional scanning software.
To send the scanned documents, the printer must use at least one outgoing email server.
If you prefer to display an email address in the FROM portion of the email messages sent by the printer, then configure an outgoing email profile instead.

I am trying to add my **bleep** account, however I am encountering an error. Any ideas.

Welcome to the HP Community --

According to the datasheet specs, this printer supports Digital Send features:

Digital Sending Standard FeaturesScan to Email; Scan to USB; Scan to Computer

Unfortunately, at this writing, the user manual does not mention the feature:

User Guide - HP OfficeJet Pro 8120e - HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e Series

That's fine -- there are other references.

How to set up ‘Scan to Email’ on HP Color LaserJet Pro & HP OfficeJet Pro printers

A couple of ideas that might help...

Use Port 587 (as opposed to the older standard 465)

Set up 2FA (2-step verification) in your email security and create an App Password.

When creating your Quick Set Profile, use the App Password in place of the email account's normal login password.

If you have already set up 2FA and applied the App Password to the Profile,

Consider

  • Go back to your Email Security
  • Switch OFF the 2FA setup -- this wipes out your App Password(s)
  • Wait a minute
  • Set up / Enable 2FA
  • Create a new App Password

Next,

  • Create / Edit your EWS Scan to Email Profile Settings -
  • Where ever the email account password is required, replace it with your new App Password.
