HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer

Hello,

I have attempted to log into my HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 Embedded Web Server. After multiple resets, both partial and full, I am unable to reset the password. I have also reset settings on the network settings.

There is no default password that I can find and there is no label with a pin on the device.

I am completely locked out of this device and cannot login.

If resetting the device to factory defaults does not work, or the network settings, what can I do?

Since searching on Google (apparently this is not on the internet) and HP Support were useless, I will share the solution.

If you are locked out of an HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 Embedded Web Server, please follow the following steps.

  1. Slide down the menu tab on the main screen. Select the Gear Wheel in the top left hand corner of the screen. You will enter the 'Setup' menu.
  2. Scroll down and select 'Printer Maintenance' and then scroll down to 'Restore'.
  3. Select 'Restore to Factory Defaults'. This will remove ALL SETTINGS and information on the printer.
  4. Connect to the URL for the Embedded Web Server (if you do not have this, navigate to the printer IP or print the HP Network Configuration Page).

And you are done, the Admin Password has been removed from the HP Embedded Web Server.

Cheers!

I just got off the phone with HP Support and was told that I will have to pay $1.99 for this one time call to get support.

Can someone from HP please help?
