Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I changed my ISP and after setting up wi-fi to my printer NONE of the advanced options are available. (scan to email, scan to folder, etc..) I DO NOT KNOW the admin password....After 2 hours of reading posts and probably screwing everything up by factory resets, etc.. I'm still locked out of those functions.
Is there any way to get the admin lock turned off??

Hi @Psyclone,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your ISP (Internet Service Provider) change has affected the advanced options on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 printer, it's possible that the network settings have been reset or altered during the setup process. Additionally, not knowing the admin password can limit your ability to access and change settings on the printer.

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps.

Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can help resolve connectivity issues. Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.

Check Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure that your printer is correctly connected to the new Wi-Fi network provided by your new ISP.

Factory Reset: If the advanced options are still not available, you might consider performing a factory reset on your printer to restore it to its default settings. However, be aware that this will erase all custom settings, including Wi-Fi credentials, and you'll need to set up the printer again from scratch. To perform a factory reset.

  • On the printer's control panel, go to "Setup."
  • Look for "Tools" or "Preferences."
  • Under the "Preferences" or "Tools" menu, there should be an option for "Restore Factory Defaults" or something similar.
  • Confirm the reset.

Default Admin Password: After the factory reset, the admin password should also reset to the default one. The default password is often found in the printer's manual or documentation. Common default passwords for HP printers are "admin" or simply left blank. If you don't have the manual, you can search for the default password online using your printer model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
