HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer

As title states, my 8710 AIO is making noise every 60 seconds. The sound is similar to the noises when a new print job is beginning, but there are no print jobs in the queue. The noise lasts 6-8 seconds and occurs every minute. Standard functions of the printer work normally, but the noise is clearly an error with the printer. I've already taken a handful of troubleshooting steps based on the support page and what I've been able to search for in these forums. What I've tried so far:

  • Turning it off and on again
  • Unplugging for 60 seconds then turning it back on.
  • Replacing existing cartridges with new ones (I've only ever used genuine HP 952 cartridges)
  • Attempting to update the firmware (it was already up-to-date)
  • Updating Windows (W10-64) and drivers
  • Reinstalling Windows drivers
  • Cleaning the rollers with a microfiber cloth as per HP's instructional video
  • Removing paper tray and cleaning it
  • Changing the paper type from plain paper to heavy and setting it back
  • Running built-in maintenance apps (align printhead, etc)
  • Factory Reset

I have no idea what the issue could be. it just sounds like it's running through a brief routine maintenance, except it's happening way too frequently for it to be a normal function of the printer - plus it's never acted like this before.
