Hi @John2046

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

You can absolutely connect your HP OfficeJet Pro 9019 (part of the 9010 Series) via USB only — no wireless or internet required.

Here’s exactly how to do it:

Step-by-Step: Install HP OfficeJet Pro 9019 via USB (No Internet)

1. Disconnect USB Cable (If Plugged In Already)

Unplug the USB cable if it’s already connected — we’ll plug it in at the right time during install.

2. Download the Right Driver Package (Full Software)

Go to HP’s driver page:
HP OfficeJet Pro 9019 Drivers – HP Support

Choose your version of Windows

Download the Full Feature Software and Driver (not just the basic driver)

3. Run the Installer

Run the .exe file you downloaded

Important: When it asks how to connect, choose USB (not Wi-Fi or Ethernet)

Only plug in the USB cable when prompted — this helps the installer properly detect and configure the printer.

4. Disable Online Setup Prompts

If HP Smart or the installer tries to connect online or log into HP services:

Click “Skip” or “Continue without account” if possible

You're using this in offline/standalone USB mode, which is fully supported

5. Set as Default Printer (Optional)

After installation:

Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers

Right-click your 9019 > Set as Default Printer

Check status: It should say "Ready", not “Offline” or “Spooling”

If It Still Says "Spooling" or "Not Connected"

Reboot your PC and printer

Try another USB port (preferably on the back of the desktop, not a hub)

In Device Manager, make sure no errors appear under "Printers" or "USB Controllers"

You can also:

Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers

Right-click the printer > See what's printing

Click Printer > Uncheck “Use Printer Offline” if it's enabled

Let me know your version of Windows (10/11) if you want direct links or screenshots — happy to walk you through it!
