Hi I am having some issues with our printer. Most of the items are greyed out and says they have been locked by the person who set up the printer. I am unable to select reset to factory defaults.

Hi @EdrickITN,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble resetting your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 printer, here are some steps you can try.

Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Factory Reset: If you're looking to perform a factory reset, follow these steps:

  • Make sure the printer is turned on.
  • On the printer's control panel, touch the "Setup" button (it looks like a gear or wrench icon).
  • Scroll down and select "Printer Maintenance" or a similar option.
  • Look for the "Restore" or "Restore Factory Defaults" option and select it.
  • Confirm the action and follow any on-screen instructions.

Hard Reset: This is a more drastic step that might be necessary if other methods don't work. Note that this could potentially erase all custom settings and preferences, so use this as a last resort:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer.
  • Press and hold the power button on the printer for about 15 seconds.
  • While holding the power button, plug the power cable back into the printer.
  • Continue holding the power button for another 10-15 seconds, then release it.
  • Turn on the printer and check if the reset has taken effect.

Update Firmware: Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve issues. Visit the HP official website, find your printer's model, and look for firmware updates. Follow the instructions provided to update the firmware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
