HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My printer stopped printing. It will the Printer status report and the Print Quality Report, but it will not print the Network Configuration Report. It will not print even a test page from the computer. I have tried uninstalling it and removing all drivers, stopping/starting the print spooler, connecting it via USB rather than wi-fi, printing only in Black ink (most recently replaced cartridge). None of this has corrected the problem. The computer sends the document, print queue on the computer is empty, but the "Printing" box on the printer screen continues to spin in a circle. I have tried looking through previous posts and tried their suggestions, but nothing has worked so far.

@chealy21, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is not printing from your computer, even though it prints internal reports like the Printer Status and Print Quality Reports. You've already tried several good troubleshooting steps, so let’s go a bit deeper to isolate and resolve the issue.

Power Reset the Printer

Sometimes a simple reset can clear internal errors:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and power it on.

Check for Firmware Updates

Outdated firmware can cause communication issues:

Manually Remove and Reinstall the Printer Driver

You mentioned uninstalling, but let’s ensure a clean reinstall:

  1. Remove the printer from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Open Print Management (search in Start menu) and remove any remaining drivers under All Drivers.
  3. Restart your PC.
  4. Download and install the Full Feature Software for your printer: Official HP® Support

Try Printing from HP Smart App

This helps determine if the issue is with the print system or the application:

  • Download or open HP Smart HP Smart
  • Try printing a test document or photo.

Check Print Spooler and Services

You’ve restarted the spooler, but ensure these services are running:

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Ensure these are Running and Automatic:
    • Print Spooler
    • RPC (Remote Procedure Call)
    • DCOM Server Process Launcher

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!

I've followed these steps but still have the same issue as the original poster. I've suddenly lost my ability to print. Are there any other suggestions to try to resolve this?

Добрый день, не удалось решить проблему? У меня такая же проблема с аналогичным принтером.

No, I have not found a solution. I unplugged the printer overnight and the same problem today. The printer will not make a photocopy. It scans the document fine but gets stuck in the printing phase. This tells me it has nothing to do with the network connection for the driver on the computer.

From the settings menu, choosing the option to print a diagnostic report fails also -- it stalls printing. I wonder if a recent firmware update has caused a problem with the printer? How do I install an older firmware for the printer?
