Hello, I have a problem with the firmware version of my HP Officejet Pro 9012 printer since today.
The printer is blocked.
Even though I'm using genuine HP cartridges, it's showing me "Chip from another manufacturer." My firmware version is MANHTNPP1N002.2546A.00. What can I do? I would really appreciate any help.

Hi @Ralf2101,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9012 is encountering issues with recognizing the cartridges due to the firmware. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can do this by visiting Official HP® Support and checking for any available updates for your specific printer model.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.

  • Wait for about 60 seconds and then plug it back in.

  • Turn on the printer and check if the issue persists.

Reinstall the Cartridges:

  • Open the printer’s cartridge access door and remove the cartridges.

  • Reinstall the cartridges ensuring they are correctly positioned and securely latched.

Check Cartridge Authenticity:

  • Verify that you are using genuine HP cartridges. Sometimes, even genuine cartridges can be misidentified due to errors.

  • Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer to ensure a good connection.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
