Recently when submitting a print job, a message popped up recommending optimizing Remote Printing. I accepted the offer to optimize and it has now enabled Private Pickup. This is blocking me from printing from my desktop and I can't find a way to disable it. Tried following instructions posted at HP®️ Support - Disable Private Pickup , but on the HP Smart App, I do not see the "Print Anywhere" option under Solutions on the dashboard sidebar. I only have "Printer Security" and that has nothing about "Print Anywhere". If I submit the print job from my desktop, I see a HP Smart Printing popup with a message saying Print Anywhere is unavailable now. The private pickup option is enabled but grayed out. And there is a button to "Send to Private Pickup". If I click it, I can see it in the Printer Queue, but I am unable to find any options on the HP iOS Smart App to allow printing.

I would just like to disable the Private Pickup option. Can someone please help?

@Raj_M, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check HP Smart App Settings

On your computer or mobile:

Open the HP Smart App.

Go to Printers and select your printer.

Look for Printer Security or Cloud Printing options.

Turn off anything related to Private Pickup or Print Anywhere.

Access HP Web Services (EWS)

Type your printer’s IP address into a web browser (find it by printing a network configuration page from your printer).

Log in (default password is often “admin” with no password).

Disable any settings related to Remote Printing or Private Pickup under Security or Network settings.

HP Account Settings

Log in to your HP account on hp.com.

Disable any settings for Print Anywhere or Private Pickup.

Reinstall HP Smart App

Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart App on your device.

Set up your printer again to make sure Private Pickup is disabled.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
