Hi @IT-Jeremy ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've forgotten the admin password for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 series, here are some steps you can try to reset it:
Factory Reset from Printer Control Panel:
- Go to the Settings menu on the printer’s control panel.
- Look for Restore Defaults under the Printer Maintenance or Support settings.
- Select Restore Defaults and confirm. This action resets the printer to factory settings, removing any set passwords.
- Note: This will also remove any other customized settings you may have applied.
HP Smart App (If You Have an Account): HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
- If the printer is already connected to HP Smart, you may be able to reset the password through your HP Smart account. Open the app and see if you can access Printer Settings > Admin Password to reset it.
Embedded Web Server (EWS): Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)
- If your printer is connected to the network, you might be able to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to reset the admin password.
- Open a web browser, type in the IP address of your printer (you can find this in Printer Settings > Network Settings on the printer display), and go to the Settings or Security tab.
- If prompted, try any default admin password (like "admin" or "1234") if you haven't previously set a password.
