I recently received the HP OfficeJet Pro 9130b series printer from my daugter and she has forgot the username Admin/Password.  I am unable to perform several functions on the Tools > Maintenance and WIFI setting due to these areas being locked.  I attempted to user admin/no password and admin/admin with no luck.  I also tried using admin/pin (located in the printer serial number and sticker) with no luck as well.

How can I restore default factory settings or change the admin username and password?

Hi @adolfoguzmanjr,

I understand you’re unable to access the Tools, Maintenance, and Wi-Fi settings on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9130b because the admin username and password are unknown. Let’s go through a few steps to restore access and return the printer to factory defaults.

Perform a factory reset from the printer control panel
– Turn the printer ON.
– From the control panel, touch Setup (gear icon).
– Go to Printer Maintenance or Tools (wording may vary).
– Select Restore or Reset and choose Restore Factory Defaults.
– Confirm the reset and allow the printer to restart.
This removes stored admin credentials and restores default settings.

Reset via Embedded Web Server (if accessible)
– Connect the printer to the network.
– Open a web browser on a computer and enter the printer’s IP address.
– Log in if possible, then go to Settings > Restore Defaults > Factory Reset.
– Apply the reset and restart the printer.

Remove Wi-Fi and reinitialize setup
– After the reset, go to Network Setup on the printer.
– Select Restore Network Settings to remove old Wi-Fi credentials.
– Reconnect the printer using HP Smart and complete setup as a new device.

I hope this helps.
