Hi @itsumimario,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 is showing "Driver Unavailable" despite downloading and installing new drivers, here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

Uninstall and Reinstall Drivers:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 and click Remove device.
  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for the OfficeJet Pro 6970.
  • Reinstall the drivers and follow the setup instructions.

Use HP Smart Software:

  • Download the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store (for Windows) or the HP website.
  • Install the app and use it to set up your printer. HP Smart can often resolve driver issues by automatically installing the correct drivers.

Run Windows Update:

  • Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, driver issues can be resolved with system updates.
  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for updates.

Check Printer Compatibility:

  • Confirm that the driver you are downloading is compatible with your version of Windows or macOS. Sometimes, drivers might be specific to certain OS versions.

Use the Printer Troubleshooter:

  • Windows has a built-in troubleshooter that might help diagnose and fix the issue.
  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Printer, and run the troubleshooter.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Sometimes, updating the printer’s firmware can resolve driver issues. Check the HP support website for any available firmware updates for your OfficeJet Pro 6970.

Verify Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB or network. A loose connection can sometimes cause driver issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you Alden for all your assistance. The issue turned out to be on Bitdefenders side. I had to create a policy to allow network printing and a few other rules. It is working now. Again, thank you for your help!
