lately i have been having a problem with my computer communicating with the scanning portion of my printer. when i click on teh printi icon on my desktop and launch the scanning dialog i get an error, problem communicating with scanner and when i run the hp print/scan doctor tests i get an error on driver check. I follow the instructions for driver check and the scan doctor runs ok, however after i complete my scanning and close the printer window the next time i try to scan i get the same problem. i am not sure if this is a windows problem (windows 10, 64 bit) or a printer software problem. cannot find where i can download an updated printer driver.
Someone please help - i use my scanner often and having to always restart my computer/printer to fix this problem is a hassle.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details and I would appreciate if you could, perhaps elaborate on your concern.
- When was the last time the printer was working fine?
- Are you able to make a copy?
- How is the printer connected to the computer?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
