I lost an icon on my desktop that allowed me to scan and my printer won't scan without it. I can't find the software. Help pretty please. I think it was called HP All In One Something! I didn't realize i lost when I got a new PC.

Hi @mdrkmahoney,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're looking for the HP All-in-One software that facilitates scanning with your HP Officejet 3830 printer. Here's how you can get the scanning functionality back.
- HP Smart App: This is the current app HP recommends for managing HP printers, including scanning. You can download it from the Microsoft Store (if you're using Windows) or from the App Store (if you're using macOS).
- HP Support Website: Visit the HP support website and navigate to the page for your HP Officejet 3830 printer. There, you should find the software and drivers section. Download the latest software package that includes scanning functionality.
- Windows Scan App: If you're using Windows, you can also use the built-in Windows Scan app. Open the Start menu, search for "Scan," and select the "Windows Scan" app to use it with your HP Officejet 3830.
If you prefer the desktop icon for convenience, you might find it after installing the HP Smart App or the specific software package for your printer model from HP's support site. These options should help you regain the scanning functionality you need.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
