Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been using this printer for years. Just replaced my computer with HP Slim Desktop 290. I was able to print just fine until the other day when I think there was some update either from HP or Microsoft.  Either way, I can no longer print from Windows. I have done ALL the troubleshooting steps from HP and Microsoft and still cannot print from the PC. I can print an internal test page, but that is all.  The computer can see the printer, it just won't print. No errors at all. It says it is printing, but nothing happens. I have cleared the ques, I have reinstalled the software more than once from the HP website, I have deleted all the HP printer related folders after the uninstall of the software,  I have even restored the pc back a day, still won't work from this pc.  I can however print via Wifi from my phone, from my laptop, just not from the pc.  I have also replaced USB cords.  I am really at a loss on this one. I know the printer works, just quit working on my pc.  Really need to get it working, especially with tax season coming up.

Hello,

In order to solve this issue, configure a new port as follows:

  1. On the keyboard, press the Windows logo key and the R key simultaneously. The Run window opens.
  2. Type control printers, then press Enter. The Devices and Printers window opens.
  3. Right-click on your printer icon, then click on Printer properties, click on the Ports tab, and click on Add Port....
  4. Select Standard TCP/IP Port and click New Port....
  5. Click Next, then enter the printer's IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.97) in the Printer Name or IP Address field and click Next.
  6. Once the port is added, click Finish and close all windows.
  7. Try to print.

I remain at your disposal in case of need.

Best regards,🤠

Hi Mans,

Thanks for taking the time to help me on this situation.  I have again done what you have recommended to no avail. This is one I can't wrap my head around...What else might you have in your bag of tricks to try?  I look forward to your reply.

thanks again,
