Hello all. After a disk crash on my Dad's old machine, I purchased a new HP laptop running Windows 10 (64 bit). Windows automatically finds his printer when I connect it through a USB cable (not a network connection). The printer will print for a day or two, but the spooler hangs, etc. When I checked the driver Settings/Printers & Scanners, it gives the printer name in the list (5600 series), but it says "Driver is unavailable"). I've also checked it in Device Manager. Same thing. The HP Print and Scan Doctor just loops back to the 5600 driver page (which doesn't list a driver). I don't trust any third party sites to download a full installation file for him. I know this printer/scanner is old, but it was working fine before. I've searched the web without luck. I've removed the printer in Settings and reinstalled it. Same thing. Any thoughts? Thanks!
