Every time I try to print, I get a message saying "User intervention required". HP Printer & Scan Doctor said it corrected issues with software and printer queue and the printer still did not print from my computer (except the internal test page). So I uninstalled all software and drivers (following the instructions provided here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/Printer-Status-Attention-Required/td-p/6608038
I did this FOUR times. EVERY time, when I go back to printing, it says "User attention required" or "User intervention". The cartridges are brand new Instant Ink (shipped directly from HP) and the printer prints the test page, the info page, the cartridge alignment page and prints from my phone. But not from my computer.
I was printing documents on Tuesday and from one document to the next, it stopped. In addition to the four times I tried everything today, this is the FIFTH time the printer pulls something like this. I had been told it was because my previous laptop was converted from Windows 7 to 10 and something in the conversion wasn't sitting right with the printer. Well this new laptop was born with Windows 10, so there is no conversion. And it has been working perfectly fine since September. And now this.
I am about to throw it away and buy a new printer. And not an HP. This is extremely frustrating.

Hi @DianaUWC,
We might be able to resolve the issue by assigning a manual IP and then creating a TCP/IP port. Here is how to do it:
Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Windows is up to date with it's software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Windows software:
Once the printer is up to date with its firmware and Windows is up to date with it's software, please set a manual IP address for the printer. The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.
Once you assign a manual IP, use the steps below to create a TCP/IP port:
1.) Search Windows for Control Panel, and then select control panel in the list of results.
2.) Click device and printers, right-click the name of your printer, and then select Printer Properties.
3.) Click the Ports tab, and then click Add Port.
4.) Select Standard TCP/IP Port, and then click New Port.
5.) Type the printer’s IP address that you wrote down earlier, and then click Next.
6.) Select the new Standard TCP/IP Port from the list, and then click OK. You might see a second printer device display in the list of devices. Do not uninstall either printer device. Leave both printer devices.
7.) Restart PC and Printer, try to print.
Let me know if you have any questions.
