@Steve_1052, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check if Printer is Connected to Wi-Fi

On the printer screen, go to Network Settings.

Make sure it says Connected, and note the IP address (like 192.168.1.xxx).

Test Connection from Laptop

On your laptop:

Press Windows + R, type cmd, hit Enter.

Type: ping [printer IP]

Example: ping 192.168.1.50

If it fails, your printer is not on the same network or the connection is blocked.

Add the Printer Manually

On your laptop, go to:
Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners

Click Add a printer.

If it doesn’t show, click:
"The printer that I want isn’t listed"

Choose:
"Add a printer using TCP/IP address"

Enter the printer’s IP address.

Install HP Software

Download the HP Full Driver from here:
HP Officejet 6500A Plus e-All-in-One Printer - E710n Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support

Install the full driver (not just the basic one).

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
