I have a new Acer Predator Gaming Laptop that I have installed my HP Officejet 9130e Printer successfully.  It shows under Printers in Windows 11.  However, no matter what I do, I cannot get the scanner and/or fax to show as installed under Printers in Windows 11.

I have uninstalled all HP Software installed, removed all devices in Device Manger for the Printer and reinstalled successfully.  Only the printer installation shows in Printers and not the Scanner and/or Fax.

Please advise how I can get this to show installed in Printers in Windows 11.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi @jlr5934,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9130e scanner and fax are not appearing in Windows 11. Let’s go through a few checks.

Confirm full driver installation

Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.

Remove the HP OfficeJet Pro 9130e printer.

Restart the computer.

Download and install the full feature software for the printer from HP.

Add the printer again and allow installation to complete.

Verify Windows scanning service

Right-click Start and select Services.

Locate Windows Image Acquisition (WIA).

Confirm Status shows Running.

Set Startup type to Automatic if needed.

Restart the computer.

Check Device Manager imaging devices

Right-click Start and open Device Manager.

Expand Imaging devices or Cameras.

Confirm the HP scanning device appears.

If missing, select Action > Scan for hardware changes.

Restart the computer.

Add scanner manually

Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.

Select Add device.

Wait for scanning devices to appear.

Select the HP OfficeJet Pro 9130e scanner entry if listed.

Complete setup and test scanning.

Verify network connection

Confirm the printer and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.

Print a Network Configuration Report from the printer control panel.

Verify the printer has a valid IP address.

Restart the printer.

Try scanning again from Windows Scan.

Note: In Windows 11, the scanner and fax functions may not appear as separate devices under Printers & scanners but remain accessible through scanning applications once the full driver installs.

I hope this helps.
