HP Officejet H470 Mobile Printer

The print driver or software set up are missing as a download on the HP printer support website. Two other drivers,  for this model, that have no bearing with the print driver or setup, are posted. The printer model number is not listed, (supported), by Microsoft  within the computer "printer o/s settings". Is there an issue with HP company support of print drivers on the website?

Found the answer/solution on the following community member's reply, below is a short note but please look his response up for the setup/driver download.

Hello,

HP retires drivers and support for products that are 10 years old or more since they were released.

Unfortunately, HP no longer provides drivers for this printer.

Hi,

To get some better understanding of the problem, what operating system do you use?

Printer drivers are listed for compatible printers, for Windows 10 as example the drivers are available via MS Update as instructed by the support document listed for the operating system,

Another example as Windows 11 - the printer is incompatible and not supported, therefore no drivers are listed:

Good afternoon,

The operating system is Windows 10, 64 bit. Here is a copy of the feedback I gave HP on this community question. One of the members below had the setup/driver posted for download. Thank goodness for a strong community member with foresight to accommodate the future questions posed. HP policy, (posted within the community), is they no longer support any product over the ten year mark. This would be accepted, but my printer was purchased in 2014 – nine years ago. So please read the below and enjoy.

Just one note with the company response of “MS Update as instructed by the support document listed for the operating system”, this statement is not true for my Windows O/S stated that it does not. A screen shot can be provided to support this statement upon request.

Thank you for the timely response/inquiry to the issue, it is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

HP retires drivers and support for products that are 10 years old or more since they were released.

Unfortunately, HP no longer provides drivers for this printer.

Please use the HP Officejet H470 Mobile Printer series Full Software and Drivers to install the printer.
Right-click on OJ_SF_H470_Full_Win_WW_140_404-4.exe, then on Run as administrator, and then click Yes. Follow the instructions to install your printer.

So if this is true, then it’s a dead product that has surpassed it’s shelf life within the HP webpage customer support. The only negative feedback is it will cost the company future customers when this issue is repeated for their needs of printer drivers and software setup. The company’s bottom line will be impacted with the loss of customer confidence for HP products by the lack of customer support.  Cost is cheap for posting a driver on a website for download, but is this the type of message the company really wants to convey to the future customers?

Sincerely,
