Hello. Have cartridges HP21 and HP22 been discontinued permanently? What would be a similar replacement printer that is budget-friendly? Thank you for your feedback.

Generally the ink has not been discontinued but may less available on stores due the age of the product, I can see that both are available online for purchase from the HP Store:

Generally there are many other printers, but similar budges printers with 2 ink cartridges are hardly equipped with a fax device, so if faxing is crucial (both incoming and outgoing) I suggest checking for higher end printers such as the 8025e printer, but it is less budget and uses 4 ink cartridges.

There are many other budget printers without faxing but you may use HP Mobile Fax to send faxes from the HP Smart app (Only send capabilities and no option to receive faxes:

Please let me know your need, if mobile fax capabilities are sufficient there are many budget options as the Deskjet 4100 or Envy 6400 printer models.

Thank you for your prompt response to my inquiry. The cartridges are no longer offered in some office supply stores, so I appreciate the information about their availability on the HP store website.

Thank you for the printer suggestions; I will check out the Deskjet 4100. The FAX component is no longer a requirement for me, just print, copy, and scan.
