I bought a new printer and want to dispose of my old printer (HP Officejet 6500a Plus).  My question is: are there any memory drive within the printer that I am disposing of or is it all right just to throw it away?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP forum.

 

You may want to restore the printer to factory defaults.

 

Theres no hard drive on the PC but if you have save any Fax numbers on it, you may want to erase that.

 

Usually, we would cut the encoder strip, break teh scan glass and cut away any other visible wires before disposing so that the printer would be "beyond economical repair" for anyone who may pick it up.

Please be sure to select the FULL feature sofwtare before downloading and installing.
