Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer

I have tried every which way to Sunday to update the firmware this printer says it needs for the last two years, with no success. It goes through the motion a download and keeps saying it was unsuccessful. Windows 11 OS.  I have tried factory resets, too. Can someone from HP give a definitive answer as to whether or not this device is supported still? Thanks.
