HP OfficeJet Pro 8100
macOS 10.15 Catalina

We recently upgraded our wifi and now my 8100 won't connect. I have followed every step I can find to troubleshoot it. It's got something to do with security as that test failed on the wireless network test.

I am 100% sure I have the correct network password as 100% of my devices are connected. Just not the 8100.

It says the authentication type is WPA-PSK. I'm pretty sure the router is using WPA2

I can't make this work. Please help...

@Daacrusher, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I see that you are unable to connect the printer to the network. I'd recommend you use the Guided Troubleshooter for help.

Additionally, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Keep me posted.

Hi, thanks for replying...I did both of these things several times. I cannot get the wifi to connect. I ended up moving the printer to the basement and connecting it via ethernet. Inconvenient, but it works. It's been working on wifi for a long time, now it just won't connect.

You may need to instead go into your router settings and try changing the channel manually. Experiment with different channels to see which one works best.

Check with your ISP for help.

This is still not working. It worked fine for several years. I'm not reducing the security on my wifi - which is what it recommends.

It's not a router problem - everything else works fine and this worked fine until we upgraded.

What else can I tell you about the printer or the network?

This requires remote assistance.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region for further course of action.

Hope this helps!
