I am unable to connect with https to my printer web setup pages.
I can connect with http.
However, for certain settings, e.g. "proxy settings" in network, I am getting a popup dialog to connect with https. If I say ok, I will get the "unable to connect" web page

Update the printer firmware
HP regularly releases new firmware versions with printer enhancements or issue fixes. Update firmware on a regular basis to make sure you are getting the most out of your printer.
Do not turn off the printer during a firmware update. This can permanently damage your printer.
From the printer control panel (network printers only): Many HP printers with control panel menus can install updates directly from HP. Updating the firmware from the control panel varies by printer model.
For example, touch the Setup icon
, touch Printer Maintenance, touch Update Printer, and then touch Check Now. Any new updates install automatically.
From the HP Smart app: From the app home screen, click the image of your printer, and then click Advanced Settings. From the EWS, click the Printer Update tile or click Printer Updates under Manage, and then click Check Now. Any new updates install automatically.
From the HP website: Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads, follow the prompts to open the downloads page for your printer. Click Download next to any updates listed under Firmware, and then open and follow the HP Printer Update prompts to update the firmware.
For more information, go to Update the firmware on an HP printer.
Restart the printer, router, and computer
Resolve any error states by restarting network-connected devices.
Turn off the printer.
Disconnect any USB or Ethernet cables from the printer. These connection types can prevent the printer from connecting to the wireless network.
Disconnect the power cord from the Wi-Fi router, wait fifteen seconds, reconnect the cord, and then wait for the lights to display a connected status.
Restart the computer.
Turn on the printer.

Hi,
I think we have a bit the chicken and the egg situation as SSL is required for firmware update to fix SSL
Status:
1.) from printer: does not work - getting error (fyi, I checked there is no firewall blocking)
2.) Download FW from HP: does not work. After executing the exe it finds the printer. However, I can't check the printer to update
3.) Smartapp - EWS: does not work as advanced features require SSL. This does not work as the new FW with SSL is required.
Please advice on next steps.

thanks for continued help. But I am not sure what to do with this MS article?
I don't have a general SSL issue. The printer has a SSL issue - I believe this was the key reason for HP FW update.
The more I search for this issue on the 911a version of printer the more I believe the FW update nevcer worked.
