HP Officejet Pro 9015 All-In-One
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a Officejet pro 9015 here that i am trying to set up, but the person who set it up was my stepmom and she put locks on all the settings. She's gone now, but we need the printer to print out some certificates, is there any way I can reset the printer? The setting is locked down on the printers screen, any help is appreciated.

Hi @EPAMR,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is locked by the person who set it up, and you need to regain access to print certificates. Here’s a concise guide to resolving this issue:

1. Try to Get the PIN/Password

If possible, ask the previous owner to provide the PIN or remove the lock remotely via their HP account.

This is the safest way and avoids reconfiguring the printer.

2. Print a Configuration Page

On the printer, go to Setup → Printer Reports and print a Network Configuration page.

This shows the printer’s IP and registration status, useful for setup or support.

3. Check HP Smart / HP Account

Log into the HP account used to set up the printer.

From the app or web portal, you may manage or remove the printer remotely.

If you don’t have the credentials, you’ll need other options.

4. USB Printing (Immediate Use)

Connect the printer directly to a PC via USB.

Locks usually only restrict settings, so printing documents may still work.

5. Soft Reset

Turn off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Clears temporary glitches but does not remove admin locks.

6. Factory Reset (Removes Locks)

Warning: This erases all network settings and preferences.

Steps (touchscreen menu):

Setup (gear icon) → Printer Maintenance / Service → Restore Factory Defaults

Follow the on-screen prompts to reset.

After reset, re-add Wi-Fi, cartridges, and other preferences.

7. Embedded Web Server (Optional)

Access printer IP in a browser to open EWS.

If an admin password is set, it won’t allow clearing locks. Factory reset is needed in that case.

I hope this helps.
